Are your products handmade?
Yes! Every Ohm & Ember product is handcrafted in small batches in Ottawa, Ontario.
Do you test on animals?
Never. We believe in kindness, not cruelty.
Are your products made in Canada?
Absolutely. Everything is handcrafted right here in Ottawa.
Candles
What kind of wax do you use?
Our candles are made with a luxurious coconut apricot wax blend chosen for its beautiful appearance, clean burn, and excellent fragrance performance.
What type of wick do you use?
We use premium wooden wicks, selected to complement each candle's fragrance and vessel.
Why is my wooden wick not staying lit?
Wooden wicks work a little differently than cotton wicks. Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately 1/8" (3-5 mm) and remove any charred wood.
How long should I burn my candle?
Allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface during the first burn. This helps prevent tunneling and promotes an even burn throughout the life of the candle.
Are your fragrance oils phthalate-free?
Yes. We use premium phthalate-free fragrance oils in our candles and home fragrance products.
Body Care & Facial Oils
Are your body butters greasy?
Our body butters are rich and nourishing, but we carefully formulate them to absorb beautifully into the skin.
Can I use facial oils every day?
Yes! Our facial oils are designed to be part of your daily skincare ritual.
What is Frankly My Dear?
Frankly My Dear is our handcrafted facial ritual oil featuring our own slow-infused frankincense oil and carefully selected botanical oils.
What is blue tansy?
Blue tansy is a beautiful botanical oil known for its naturally vibrant blue colour and luxurious feel.
Lip Care
Are your lip balms natural?
Our lip balms are crafted with nourishing ingredients including mango butter, shea butter, cocoa butter, jojoba oil, and sweet almond oil.
Are your lip balms flavored?
Some are! Depending on the variety, our lip balms may contain flavor oils or essential oils chosen to complement the scent experience.
How long does a lip balm tube last?
That depends on how frequently you use it... and how obsessed you become with it. 😉
Room Sprays & Ritual Sprays
Can I spray these on linens?
Many of our room sprays can also be used on linens and fabrics. We always recommend testing a small, inconspicuous area first.
Are all of your room sprays also mat sprays?
Not all of them.
Some Ohm & Ember sprays are formulated as Room + Mat Sprays, while others are designed specifically as room sprays. Be sure to check the product description for the intended use of each blend.
Can I use Room + Mat Sprays on my yoga mat?
Yes. Our Room + Mat Sprays can be lightly misted onto your yoga mat and allowed to dry completely before use.
How should I use my room spray?
A few sprays are all you need to refresh your space, linens, or (where indicated) your mat. Shake gently before use and spritz into the air or onto appropriate surfaces.
Why do I need to shake the bottle?
Our sprays contain carefully selected fragrance blends that may naturally separate over time. A quick shake ensures everything is beautifully blended before each use.
Shipping & Orders
How long will my order take to ship?
Orders are typically processed within a two business days. Shipping timelines vary depending on location and carrier.
Do you offer local pickup?
Yes, we offer local pickup in the south and west end of Ottawa.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Please contact us as soon as possible and we'll work with you to make it right.
